  • Sweets: Dark chocolate (70–80% cocoa) with sea salt or Maltesers. The bitterness of dark cocoa balances the peaty "wildness" of the spirit.

  • Neat or With Water: Most enthusiasts recommend drinking it neat or with a few drops of water to open up the floral and honeyed sweetness.
  • Apples to Pears: A refreshing blend using 1.5 oz Laphroaig Quarter Cask, lemon sour, and fresh apple juice, as suggested by Chilled Magazine.
  • Smoky Ginger Highball: 35ml Laphroaig, honey water, lemon juice, and chilled ginger ale or ginger beer. The spice of the ginger complements the peppery finish of the whisky.
  • Penicillin Variation: Use it as a smoky "float" on top of a classic Penicillin cocktail to provide an aromatic peat punch.
